Frequently asked Questions
Every child is different. Children with mild articulation errors can excel rapidly through therapy within months. However, children with multiple issues such as speech, language, and social language can require years. Once an evaluation is completed by the therapist, short and long term goals will be established. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee the exact length of time that any patient will be in therapy.
Children are often time given homework assignments to complete at home. These assignments typically take 5-10 minutes of your day and help with carryover of skills learned during therapy.

If your child requires AAC (augmentative communication ) or behavioral therapy, we will refer you to a provider that specializes in these specific needs.
We are sorry to say no for many reasons. First, we have a different philosophy than ABA centers. We believe that child even ones with Autism, learn language and communication skills through normal child development. We recognize that some children are gestalt language learners and treat them accordingly. ABA centers that focus on 40 hours a week of behavioral therapy are considered outside of normal child development parameters. We recognize that some children do very well with ABA therapy and that there are some very good ABA facilities; however, we do not feel that it is a one size fits all program. We caution parents to investigate, read and educate themselves before placing their child with any therapeutic facility.
At times yes, but this depends on number of children at the facility being seen by our practice, location, and if your child's school allows it.
Recommendations are made specific to your child based on need, insurance requirements, therapist availability and parent/child availability. Should the therapist recommend 2 times a week, we will see your child for the number of days they are available. With that said, we will not place two therapy sessions together to make one, unless it is appropriate. Our therapy model is 30 minutes per session for children. Over 30 minutes, most children struggle to attend to task and there is no benefit for seeing them for longer sessions.
We use the program Simon Says which works on tongue placement, nasal breathing, respiration and posture. During therapy session, the client will be given the tools needed to perform daily exercises. These exercises are required to be completed three times daily.
