Therapy Services Locations

Double Talk Therapy recognizes that each client’s need is unique and in such, we recognize that therapy provided in certain locations may be necessary due to a clients individual or family’s needs.  In understanding of this, below we have listed the locations that we presently see clients.

Clinic Location—We provide therapeutic services in all three of our office locations.  Two locations are associated with other medical service providers, while our Princeton—McKinney location is a home office with a separate entrance for the office.

Teletherapy—We do provide teletherapy services in the States of Texas, California and Maryland.  These services are available to all that are appropriate for teletherapy services.

Homebased Therapy—Unfortunately we do not offer this service, we recommend contacting a home health agency or ECI (Early Childhood Intervention).

Daycares—We currently do not offer this, but as our staffing availability changes, this may change.

ABA Clinics—We do not offer this service.  We recommend contacting the ABA Clinic that your child may be attending to see who provides this service.

Time Availability

Evaluations:  Please be aware a typical evaluation takes a minimum of 1 hour.  We do not schedule evaluation times from 3-6 pm or during after school hours.  We will however be happy to provide an excuse for your child’s school should you require one.

Therapy:  After school slots are available on a first come first serve basis.  We make every effort to conform to your needs; however, please remember other families also have extracurricular activities to attend as well.  Should you prefer a specific time not available, you can be placed on a wait list for that time.

Therapy Priority

Child—When determining your child’s therapy schedule, consider extracurricular event’s of your child and their siblings.  Speech Therapy requires dedication and commitment to your child’s communication needs.  We recognize that other activities may play an important part in your child’s development, including social development.  Because of this, consider that your child may be in speech therapy for more than six months and that may impact your family.  If you feel that you cannot make appointments consistently, we recommend a minimum of school-based services; however, please remember that school-based services may not be enough to remediate their speech and language skills.  Children typically are scheduled for 30-minute sessions due to attention and maturity.

Adult—Much the same as with children, commitment and dedication to completing your therapy program is important.  Consider job requirements, transportation, and other medical appointments in general life before committing to a therapy schedule.  If you are unable to consistently attend therapy appointments, progress and remediation of your communication or swallowing disorder will be delayed or impaired.  Adult appointments typically are 45 minutes to 60 minutes in length, therefore difficult to reschedule in our busy clinics.

Policy—Our policy, for those that have repetitive absences your therapist will discuss with you possible changes that will allow more consistency.  If no resolution is made, you may be asked to take a break until you are able to commit to attending therapy on a regular basis.
